Birds are fond of weather station rain gauges. They can be mounted in high locations, and are ideal for nesting. To protect your rain gauge from bird damage, install the upgraded funnel w/ built in rainspikes from Ambient Weather. Designed not to hurt the birds, the spikes provide a barrier to make it more difficult for birds to land on top of the rain gauge. Easy to handle, no tools required. Easily bend the spikes over the opening of the rain gauge to achieve the coverage you desire (small birds to large birds)
