Frequently Asked Questions

1. Place the sensor inside next to the indoor console sensor. Wait about 24 hours for stabilization. The sensors should agree within the accuracy specifications. Most digital capacitive hygrometer sensors are accurate within +/- 5%. Thus, the sensors should agree within 10% when considering full tolerance stack up.Note that humidity accuracy, like most other measurement parameters, are a percentage of full scale, and not a percentage of point.
2. Sling psychrometers are very accurate. Perform a formal calibration. The humidity should agree within 5% of the  rating. You can also make your own calibration kit. For details, visit:

3.   Place the sensor in a shaded area on the north side of the structure to avoid direct and radiant heat.

4.  Humidity is significantly impacted by external factors like location and water (grass, lakes, rivers, etc). Insure proper installation. You cannot use a source like the National Weather Service. There are several reasons:

• The NWS may update once per hour.
• The NWS has strict installation guidelines (no unnatural structures, bodies of water, or unnatural vegetation nearby).

1. Replace the batteries. We recommend the following batteries:

2. Clean any corrosion around and on the battery terminals.

If the sensor displays “OF” and the console displays “LL”or “HH.H”, the senor must be replaced.

The low voltage icon or indicator will be present on the console next to the sensor reading if the voltage falls below 2.4 Volts.

If you own more than one sensor, make sure the first sensor is on Channel 1 and the second sensor is on Channel 2.

Next, place all remote sensors about 10′ from the console, and then power down and up the display console. Do not touch any buttons for several minutes, until the search icon  on the display turns off.

If the problem persists, change the channel 2 sensor to channel 1 and visa versa (switch both sensor channels) and repeat the process above. Does the problem follow the sensor, or does it remain on channel 2?

If the sensor problem remains on Channel 2, the console will need to be replaced.

If the sensor problem moves to Channel 1, the sensor will need to be replaced.

If the temperature reads 88.8 and Channel 8, the sensor did not completely boot up. This is because during initial power up, all of the segments are illuminated.

Remove and reinsert the batteries. If you own the F007PF Floating Pool and Spa Thermometer, press the reset button on the inside lid.

0F.L indicates there is a problem with the sensor and must be replaced. This can occur if the probe is pinched or pulled, resulting in an open circuit.

Water proof means the sensor can be submersed in water.

Water resistant means the sensor can be left out in the rain.

Floating Pool & Spa Thermometer loses reception

1. Sensor placement is important, since the wireless signal cannot pass through Earth or ground.  Tethering the sensor to the side of the pool that is line of sight to the sensor is recommended:
   
2. Keep the console away from any electronic radiating sources, like phones, TVs and computers.
3. If the sensor(s) have stopped communicating to your console,  it may be as simple as placing the remote(s) (powered up) about 10 feet away from the console, power down and up the console by removing one or more batteries, disconnecting from AC power (if applicable), wait 30 seconds, and put the batteries back in, then wait several minutes to resync. DO NOT TOUCH ANY BUTTONS and look for the search icon. Wait until the search icon turns off before pressing any buttons.If you have more than one sensor, make sure they are programmed to transmit on different channels.

To set the channel number on your sensor, open the battery compartment and locate the dip switches:

For the floating pool and spa thermometer, it is on the inner lid.

Next, set the dip switches according to the table below:

For example, if you wish to set Channel 2, the first three dip switches are set to DOWN DOWN UP.

If you wish to set Channel 3, the first three dip switches are set to DOWN UP DOWN.

If the batteries have already been inserted into the sensor, you must power it down and up again by removing and inserting the batteries again.

The channel number will now be displayed on the LCD Screen (#3 below). For the F008PF, since it does not have an LCD display, will flash the channel number.

If the sensor hygrometer is out of range and beyond the limits of the console calibration, the sensor must be replaced.
