The 6250 includes the VantageVue console (#6351) and sensor suite (#6357).

The 6251 includes the VantagePro2 console (#6312) and VantagVue sensor suite (#6357).

The 6251 has several advantages over the 6250:

It can receive multiple sensors, such as leaf wetness, soil moisture, soil temperature, water temperature, and thermo-hygrometers. The 6251 is expandable. The 6250 is not.
The 6312 display is larger and includes a handy weather ticker.
The 6312 display allows you to mount flat to a wall.
